Let’s here it for UCF!! They beat a ranked team for the first time in school history! It was a big win for the Knights and a shattering loss for the Cougars of Houston. I just felt I needed to start with that congratulatory introduction for one of my alma maters before moving on this morning.
Anyways… Six unbeatens left. They’re all in the top eight of these computer rankings. Given the history of responses, I have absolutely no doubt that I will receive further comments about how a pair of two-loss teams don’t belong in front of TCU and Boise State. And let me please be on the record as stating that I agree. However, please PLEASE note that these rankings are based on a cumulative total performance for the entire season. As such, Ohio State and Penn State have both played eleven games whereas TCU and Boise State have played only ten. Therefore, Ohio State and Penn State have had more opportunities to collect points (which is somewhat easy to do with one extra game and more difficult schedules). If all four win out, I have little doubt that TCU and Boise State will make up the difference and finish ranked higher than the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions. Please don’t be too alarmed just yet.
Anyways, the week 11 top 25 looks like:
1.) Texas (10-0)
2.) Alabama (10-0)
3.) Cincinnati (10-0)
4.) Florida (10-0)
5.) Ohio State (9-2)
6.) Penn State (9-2)
7.) Texas Christian (10-0)
8.) Boise State (10-0)
9.) Georgia Tech (10-1)

21.) Navy (8-3)
22.) Nebraska (7-3)
23.) Clemson (7-3)

I live in Albuquerque, NM… glad to know I live in the town that is home to the worst team in the country!
No wonder no one out here cares about college football… I feel so alone compared to when I lived back in Florida.

Warchant,
Don’t feel too bad. It’s usually a distinction that doesn’t last. Washington carried the honor last year. And I believe I can empathize somewhat. I live in Huntsville, AL. Now, while this area of the country is absolutely CRAZY for Auburn, Alabama, and Tennessee, the University of Alabama in Huntsville has no team. After spending the first 32 years of my life either in Orlando or Tallahassee, not seeing a city get excited on Saturday morning is a shocking experience.
